The following is a standard ceremony that most people like me to perform in conjunction with the wedding outline that I recommend. Please remember that I will always be glad to help you tailor your wedding to your specific needs. If anything that I show you here is not to your liking, please feel free to substitute to your satisfaction, or your religious beliefs. I am here to help you!
O' eternal God, creator and preserver of all mankind, send thy blessings upon this man and this woman whom you bless in thy name so that they will surely perform the vows of the covenant made between them. Look gracefully upon them that may love, honor, and cherish each other, and so live together in faithful, patient, and true goodness. May their home be a heavenly blessing and a place of peace. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.
Dearly beloved we are gathered here today in the sight of God, and in the presence of these, your many friends and family, to join this man, and this woman in holy matrimony which is an honorable estate instituted by God. It is therefore not to be entered into unadvisedly, but reverently, discretely, and to the fear of God that these two persons come now to be joined.
I charge you both to remember that love and loyalty alone will avail in the foundation of a happy home. If the solemn vows that you are about to assume/make be kept pure, your lives will be full of joy and the home you are establishing will abide in peace. No other human ties are more tender, no more perfect than those which you are about to assume.
I ask you (groom), and I ask you (bride), are you both now ready to profess your faith to each other? It is now time for both of you to face each other and profess your faith to one another.
Groom: I ________, take you _______, to be my lawful wedded wife. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, for as long as you/we both shall live? Bride:, I _______, take you _______, to be my lawful wedded husband. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish for as long as you both shall live?
May we now present the rings. Groom/Bride: With this ring I thee wed and I pledge unto thee, my faith and my love. (Congratulations by Steve to Bride and Groom and then on behalf of the audience.) For as much as you have consented to live together in wedlock, you have professed your faith to each other in the presence of these your many friends and now your family. Now, by the Power and authority vested in me by this the Commonwealth of Kentucky/The great State of Ohio, I now proudly pronounce you as Husband and Wife. You may now kiss your Bride!!!! Ladies and Gentlemen, it is with great honor I introduce to you as Husband and Wife, _________________________!!!!! |
